Welcome!
Hey all! If you know me, you know I’m passionate about two things: art and science. If you know me a little better, you also know that I’m specifically passionate about the environment and people’s health, and appalled by the way we (as a society) are dealing with both those issues. After sulking about how much power one person has in changing the world (or the lack thereof), I decided to suck it up and put all my passions to work. I bring to you all: The Year of EcoNut: a People’s Friendship with the Environment and Nutrition.
During this year, I want to go on a journey with all my friends to be really mindful of the friendship with our bodies and our environment, because those two really go hand in hand! Every month has its own “rule” and these are rules to live your life by for that month as best as you can. These rules might (will) disrupt some parts of your life. I guess that’s the point. This personal disruption speaks to the environmentally and nutritionally disruptive practices that are so ingrained in our everyday activities.
How This Works:
During the last days of each month, I will post the new rule for the next month. During the month, as you follow this rule, I would love if you would send me pictures of what you did, insights you had, research/news articles pertaining to that topic, or even just a hello! I’m really interested in hearing from anyone who participates about all the creative solutions they’ve had to come up with in order to tackle these “disruptions”. You could call this a social experiment, or an “experiential installation” focused around the topic of Disruption, and by participating, you all will be helping me “gather data”, so to speak, all while helping your body and the environment!
